Class Papers
The following are some excerpts from class papers that I wrote while completing my Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration.
Regardless of the size or type of archives that the materials call home, it’s the music heritage that needs to be preserved. If it’s successfully protected, then there is opportunity for cultural justice to be served.

Many of these collections make an extra effort to preserve the materials created and captured by essential labor: teachers, medical professionals, grocery store employees, retail workers, and first responders. Especially striking, too, are the images of wartime casualties, military equipment production, and refugee relief, that unfortunately are very similar to what we are seeing in the press today of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But it makes the task of thoroughly describing the records of historical wartime events feel that much more urgent and necessary in order to avoid that type of history from repeating.

3D printing technology provides an additional level of information for patrons researching a topic at libraries and it enhances the learning experience for museum visitors. People with vision impairments, people who learn better through tactile experiences, young people, and older adults all benefit from the ability to touch and handle 3D printed objects at heritage and information institutions.
