For a Description and Access for Archives class project, I converted an old finding aid for the Association of Municipal Professional Women records, written by the Reuther Library, into XML. Throughout the project, I became familiar with many EAD elements and tags. A finding aid that exists in several different formats, such as both a Microsoft Word doc and web browser-based XML, increases access for an archives’ users. Below are some of the steps that I took to transfer the old finding aid into XML.
